From The Freeman's - Mary, Danny, Stephanie & Daniel:

First if you hadn't noticed already our email address changed, its danmaryfreeman@verizon.net.
Second both Daniel and Stephanie are in the Brookville High School Marching Band, which is taking a trip to Florida at the end of February to march at Disney in a parade. The buses to take us down will cost about $14,000 dollars, ouch. So the band is holding a spaghetti dinner and auction on Nov. 18. Yes we know that it is on the Ohio State/ Michigan game day. But the dinner starts at 5:00 and the auction doesn't start until 7:00. And they will hold the sports stuff to the end of the auction.
I think that there are a couple of sports nuts in the Fortener family so some of this stuff should appeal to them. This is just some of the stuff to be auctioned off:
-An OSU jersey that was worn in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl by Craig Krenzel and signed by him. He was the MVP in that game.
-A Carson Palmer football in a case ( not signed, but still nice )
-A Columbus Blue Jacket hockey puck signed by Sergei Fedorov and a Columbus Blue Jacket pennant signed by the 06-07 team.
- Tickets to an University Of Cincinnati Basketball game
- Sports memorabilia from the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and the Dayton Dragons
-There is also stuff for the Dayton Ballet, Dayton Art Institute, and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra
-A Disney's Little Mermaid Dvd set signed by the illustrator
-Set of 4 park hopper passed to Disney-MGM-Epcot
-There is also a $50 dollar money tree and a 13-inch color tv/dvd set that I think will be raffled off that night.
And that is just a small sampling of what we have to auction off.
The dinner includes salad, spaghetti, bread and a drink - cost adults $7.00, senior citizens and children under 10 - $5.00, children under 2 are free, for tickets purchase prior to the event. At the door all tickets are $7.00. If you call us we will reserve tickets at the pre-event price.
The dinner and auction will be held at the new Brookville High School in the cafeteria and gym.
If anybody has any questions they can call Mary, the kids, or myself at 833-4663.
The auction will be done by Poole's Auctioneers, so only cash or check will be accepted, them all procedes go to the band.
So if you could put this on the family blog for us we would appreciate it.
Thanks Daniel, Stephanie, Mary and Danny

FORTENER FAMILY!
I love this picture! I snagged it off the wall at my folks place and scanned it to a disk - you should be able to copy it from the blog to use for whatever.
****I Need your help! I plan on cutting each individual face out of this picture and posting a brief write up of each - who they married, their children, grand-children & great grandchildren! Ill have little "Donny" submit something for big "Don" so you can see what Im talking about...
In the meantime, Ive COLOR CODED each family member and edited previous articles - the color of the headline should match the family member. And yes, I have a day job.

Standing - Lou, Carol, Don, & Bill - Sitting: Ray, Dolores, Grandma & Grandpa, Rosie & Phyllis! Its no wonder where we got all of our good looks! What handsome bunch!

Sean Graduates from Basic Training!
Thanks to Ed for passing this along - Way to go Sean (Stan & Rosie's grandson/Linda & Mike Cramers Son)! Good Luck in all your endeavors! Its nice to see some smarts filtered down gene pool!
Dr. Bob Mathes & 18-yr old previously premature patient:

Thanks again to Ed for this one - I posted these larger than usual so hopefully you can read the article. Very nice!

EVENT! Ok, I know its far in advance, but January 24 (wed) Andy is playing @ sinclair so I was thinking we could all do dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse and then head over to the game - mark it on your calendars and we'll hammer out some more concrete details later on. We may be pushing it to fit dinner in before a 730 game...so maybe we can just meet at a bar and then head over. More details later on....

EVERYONE HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!! I know how excited you all are to see pictures from scrapbooking weekend with all the girls! Guys, try to get by without us for a few days if you can.

Christmas Plans?...Anyone?...Anyone....Bueller?

You didnt think Id start this blog and not try to get us all together did you? Remember the Old St. Francis Fortener Christmas parties? (there was one or two at Ascension..)

Heres a few of my random ramblings about past and future parties....

- Mark "Santa Claus" Ewald is still around and could be recruited for Santa Duties. At my first real job out of college I bought office supplies from him and he denied me a credit on some task chairs - an issue that eventually made me quit my job, so lets just say, he owes me one.

- Remember the dot matrix "Merry Christmas" banners that we always had? I can make better ones now.

Unfourtunately, I can only post so many memories on my lunch break so post your favorite "Fortener Christmas" memory - and also add (1) If you're interested in reviving the Fortener Chrismas party (2) what dates you CANNOT attend (3) If you have ideas regarding location, times, etc.

We can discuss on the comment section...Hope to hear from YOU ALL!!!
