Christmas Plans?...Anyone?...Anyone....Bueller?

You didnt think Id start this blog and not try to get us all together did you? Remember the Old St. Francis Fortener Christmas parties? (there was one or two at Ascension..)

Heres a few of my random ramblings about past and future parties....

- Mark "Santa Claus" Ewald is still around and could be recruited for Santa Duties. At my first real job out of college I bought office supplies from him and he denied me a credit on some task chairs - an issue that eventually made me quit my job, so lets just say, he owes me one.

- Remember the dot matrix "Merry Christmas" banners that we always had? I can make better ones now.

Unfourtunately, I can only post so many memories on my lunch break so post your favorite "Fortener Christmas" memory - and also add (1) If you're interested in reviving the Fortener Chrismas party (2) what dates you CANNOT attend (3) If you have ideas regarding location, times, etc.

We can discuss on the comment section...Hope to hear from YOU ALL!!!

Is anyone actually looking at this blog? no one has posted any comments so if you want me to keep this up, please let me know. I, personally am enjoying it, but I may have to rename this to the Danny Fortener update blog if you people dont start emailing me whats going on with you!! Thanks to those who already have! Have a great week!

Judy & Bobby's Son Willie!
Judy and I just wanted to update everybody on Willie and this football season. Willie plays 1st team monster back (linebacker) for the Northwestern Pee-Wee’s (ages 6-8).They are 5 and 1 and have one game left this Sunday at South Vienna. Their defense has only given up 25 pts this season and they have 4 shutouts. They lost their only game by 2 pts. The big news they are playing in a big pee-wee all star game in Columbus at Worthington High School. There will be teams from all over the Tri-state area. It will be the weekend on Nov 18th and they will play at least two games. Willie is so pumped because he will get a jersey that looks like our high school’s team. By the way Judy wants to talk smack about Northwestern football.(Andy played quarterback there) They are in the same division and region as your beloved Finnytown. Finnytown is ranked 8th and Northwestern is 11th, so if we win out there could be a big match up down the road. Well gotta go lunch breaks over. Thanks to everyone who has made it to his games.

Dayton, Ohio -- The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) has announced the national high scores for the 2005/2006 bowling season. Sinclair Community College Lt. Thursday Updates -

Per Jan -
Ryan's game is now at 3 pm not 4:30

Ok - Jan said she tried to post a comment and it wouldnt let her. I think I fixed that. You should just be able to click "Comments" at the bottom of the post, write your comment and just sign it in the body, click on "anonymous" and submit it. Try it. Comment early and often. Dont say you didnt know how...

On that note, your only responsiblity is to post a comment...AT LEAST once, which will accomplish many things - A) It will be a sufficient stroke to my ego and keep me motivated to keep this updated B) it will let the rest of the family know that you're still alive C) Ok there is no C, just remember that I get a warm fuzzy everytime anyone takes the time to post a comment, which should be reason enough!

Now start emailing me those updates people! Linda gets her gold star for being the first one.

RICKS CLAN - Thanks to Linda for sending me these great pics!

JOHN FORTENER Makes Headlines In Georgia!

You've got to be thinking...where in Gods name is she pulling all of this info? Its called Google, folks, and if you dont submit something on yourself...trust me...Ill find it...Ive got time. Like I found this little gem from the citizen.com in Georgia!~ From The Citizen: The Peachtree City Optimist Club held its 17th annual golf tournament on Monday, September 11 at Planterra Ridge Golf Center. Ninety-two golfers “teed off” to help the Optimist Club raise $9,100 for the youth of Peachtree City and Fayette County. All funds raised will be used for the many projects and events that the club presents each year to make the community a better place to live.
The team of John Fortener, Clayton Bennett, Frank Bennett and Daryl Hatfield took first place low gross. The first place net prize went to the team of Wallace Presley, Jack Mills, Matt Huddleston and Joe Guthrie.

TOM FORTENER - Referee Extrodinarre...

Tom has been chosen to referee TWO, count em, TWO high school playoff games this year. Per Tom:
I will be officating two high school playoff games this year.I will be on crew #40. I will have one game one the 3rd and one on the 11th of November.

Stay tuned to this post for more details - Tom - when you know something post it in the comments...

CONGRATS NICK & MEREDITH!

Like his big sister - Nick met his future spouse at a bar...Harrigan's to be exact. These two lovebirds will tie the knot on December 9. Meredith graduated from Centerville, although we dont hold that against her. She is a distant cousin to Nick Lachey (& no, nick will not be taking her name & no, Nick Lachey will not be at the wedding)

A word of warning though, Meredith is a hugger of extrodinary proportions. Dont say I didnt warn you. A tip: If she doesnt let go, give her the hard pat. She HATES the pat.

CONGRATS Dave & Amy!

Congrats David & Amy Fortener!
Dave & Amy were married this summer at St. Helens in Dayton. It was a great time!

Roz & all her Divas: Stephanie, Mary, Judy, Jan, Jean, Kim, Roz, Me & Pam..

Carly Mathes – Keep up with the Lady Vols Swimming/Diving!

http://utladyvols.cstv.com/sports/w-swim/mtt/mathes_carly00.html

From Carly’s Coach:"Carly calmly and quietly established herself as one of the top freshmen in the SEC last year. She is versatile across distances and strokes, she is remarkably consistent in training, and she keeps getting better. She is the consummate leader by example. She gets the job done and gets it done well every time, and does it all with a great sense of humor. Carly is going to be a critical part of our NCAA team this year and we think she'll be on the podium in several events."

Very impressive! My only leadership role at Ohio U was president of the women’s rugby team, spending afternoons in the Club Sports Directors office making excuses for the clubs behavior on road trips, (“OF COURSE No body pooped in the pool, Chris! We just jumped in all dirty after the game…it must have settled!!! Really!”….taken from an actual conversation I had with the director….) Oh, College.

DANNY FORTENER - Keep up with MSU FOOTBALL!!with MSU Football

Stay Tuned to this link to keep up with Danny's stats:

http://scoreboards.aol.com/football/ncaaf/player/41423/player.aspx

It seems like just yesterday I was babysitting this kid who was obsessed with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and would sing: “Teenage MUPA INJUN TURTLES”…
Too Funny! Post here if you know of any opportunities to go see a game, or at least drive up to Michigan and get drunk in the parking lot outside the stadium…im up for either.

RYANS LAST FOOTBALL GAME - BIG ONE! This Saturday! OCT - 21, DONT MISS IT!!

Ok this is it. Saturday is Ryan's last football game of the season. They
are playing against CJ again, (they beat this team 7-0) a couple weeks ago,
so it should be another really good game. The time is 4:30 and the
location is West Carrollton Jr. High. It is right off of 75 s/b - off of
Central Avenue. The red team's current record is 5-2.

I just checked weather.com and the forecast for Saturday is mostly sunny
and the high of 62. A great day for football. Hope to see you there.

PS. For his 8th grade get-away - he is selling Home Interior candles -
they are $7 and $12 each - all profit will go to his (and mine) trip - I
get to go with him.
Also mark your calendars - December 10 they are having a pasta dinner @
Immaculate Church Basement - unknown on the cost right now. - more to
follow.

Thanks,

Jan
